4 walls, lots of light: that's loft living
Living in a loft is the dream of many. However, very few people know how much work and expense goes into a luxury property like this. The reason is mainly historical. Large spaces, often with high vaults and porous walls. In fact, all lofts are characterised by an industrial feel. Today, old buildings built during the Industrial Revolution are among the most sought-after properties. And no wonder: when the first dwellings came into being, it was precisely disused industrial sites that housed them. Economic activities had in fact long since moved away, leaving the original areas in a state of neglect. Due to a lack of living space, moreover, the areas were often populated by enthusiastic young people with high hopes, who thus developed the stylistic traits that are typical of a loft today: large, open surfaces with cosy corners and spaces dedicated to work.
