Wintertime is wellness time: the most beautiful spa & wellness hotels in Schleswig-Holstein

When it's cold outside and the wind is blowing, there's nothing better than wellness. Do you already have plans for the upcoming winter season? Perhaps you are still looking for the perfect place for a soothing wellness break from everyday life and would like some inspiration for a short trip: We present four spa & wellness hotels from different regions of Schleswig-Holstein where a special time-out is guaranteed.

Hotel Breitenburg

South of Itzehoe, the natural Hotel Breitenburg is surrounded by old trees, the Breitenburg Canal and a first-class golf course. The hotel was created from the Gut Osterholz estate: the former stables were extensively converted and the rest of the hotel was newly built. The result is 80 luxurious rooms that harmoniously combine tradition and modernity.

The undisputed highlight of the Hotel Breitenburg is the large spa and wellness area. In addition to an impressive infinity pool with a view of the Breitenburg Canal, several saunas and relaxation rooms, you can look forward to a wide range of beauty treatments, Ayurveda treatments, cleansing rituals in the hammam and massages. This spa and wellness area not only impresses guests, but also the jury of the monthly travel magazine GEO Saison: experts from the tourism industry voted the Hotel Breitenburg one of the 100 best European hotels - and also one of the best wellness hotels in Germany.

Even if you like it a little more active, you will find what you are looking for at Hotel Breitenburg: At weekends, guests of the hotel have the opportunity to bring body and soul into harmony during guided yoga classes free of charge. The fitness studio also offers the right environment and equipment for your training session.

While the spa and wellness area alone would undoubtedly be reason enough to visit the Hotel Breitenburg, you can look forward to many other activities during your stay, including horse riding, golf, bike tours and hikes, wine tastings or canoe tours on the Breitenburg Canal. A visit to nearby Breitenburg Castle, whose history dates back to the 16th century, is also particularly exciting. The castle is privately owned, but guided tours are occasionally offered.

A little tip for last-minute visitors: even if you are not staying overnight at the hotel, you can visit the day spa from Sundays to Fridays, and on Sundays you can also take part in a yoga class (reservation required).

Location: Gut Osterholz 1, 25524 Breitenburg

Highlights: Infinity pool, beauty treatments, Ayurveda treatments, hammam

Room types: Classic, superior, maisonette suite, room with water view

Prices: from € 189 p. night

The small coastal town of Büsum on the North Sea is not only a popular destination for beach vacationers in summer, but also for all those who long for rest and relaxation away from the summer vacations. The wellness hotel Lighthouse Hotel & Spa is located right next to the North Sea.

The rooms at the Lighthouse Hotel & Spa are characterized by a calm and contemporary design. There are also three saunas, a steam bath, a 60° bio-soft sauna and a 90° Finnish sauna. One of the rooms offers a unique view of the historic harbor, while the other has a soothing salt wall. There is also a sunbathing pool with whirlpool function. The hotel is directly connected to the "Meerzeit Büsum Wellenbad und Spa" adventure pool, where you can swim in an even more spacious area.

However, they all have one thing in common: the gastronomic concept is based on carefully selected, mostly regional ingredients and the use of the best ingredients, served in a pleasant atmosphere that also includes an outdoor terrace with a view of the sea.
