Via Leonardi is a side street of the lower part of Via Vittorio Emanuele II, which leads to the Bellini Opera Theatre. The Via Vittorio Emanuele II, one of the oldest streets in Catania, develops through the historic centre, from the sea to the upper part of the city. East of the square, still near the Cathedral, is the church of Sant'Agata, a splendid example of the late Baroque by Vaccarini, with the adjoining abbey. The great advantage of the position consists in the facility to reach quickly the major road transport arteries, the port, the train station and the airport, while many monuments and main facilities are reachable on foot.
