Ognina-Picanello: Location and surroundings of this property

Viale Ruggero di Lauria is one of the city's most exclusive stretches. This street, together with viale Artale Alagona, coincides with Catania's seafront promenade, which overlooks a striking lava cliff along which is the seaside promenade par excellence for the Catania people. This area has recently been equipped with a bicycle path and sports facilities. Along the road are two former fishing villages, Ognina with its ancient harbour and San Giovanni Li Cuti with its famous volcanic sand beach. Today, the road is passable by car except on some Sundays when it is returned to the city as an ideal pedestrian island.
