The 5 best beaches & coves of Palamós

S'Alguer cove

This beautiful cove is located less than 3 km from the centre of Palamós. It is a small cove of pebbles and coarse sand, located in a totally natural landscape, with fishermen's houses and boats on the shore. Due to its location, it has no services and can only be reached on foot along the coastal path or by boat.

La Fosca Beach

Located in a residential area, to the north of the centre of Palamós, is the beautiful La Fosca beach. It is a fairly well known beach, mainly occupied by families, thanks to its length, fine sand, shallow waters and easy access, whether by car, on foot, by bus or by boat. It has showers, lifeguards, a restaurant and a beach bar on the beach itself.

It has recently obtained the Environmental Quality and Blue Flag awards.

Estreta Cove

Cala Estreta is a beautiful small cove, surrounded by pine trees and cliffs. It is located in a totally natural and wild environment, and as its name indicates, it is a narrow beach, divided into two parts by a rock called "la Roja". It is located 8 km from the centre of Palamós. It is a beach without services, due to its difficult access, where nudism is allowed.

To reach this cove, you have to walk for 20 to 30 minutes from the beach of Es Castell, taking the coastal path to the north. Following this path, we can enjoy the best coves in the area: Cala Sania, Cala Els Corbs, Cala Canyers, Cala d'en Remendon, Cala Roca Bona, Cala del Cap de Planes, Cala el Crit and finally the beach of El Golfet, at the foot of Cap Roig.

Margarida Cove

Cala Margarida is just a few minutes from the centre of Palamós, next to the exclusive Port Marina. It can be reached on foot or by car from the centre or the port, or along the coastal path from Fosca beach.

This picturesque cove is notable for its small white houses, home to fishermen, as well as numerous boats, the quality of its waters and seabed, where we can find various species of algae of great ecological value, starfish, and numerous species of fish, as under its waters there are depths of up to 25 metres.

The beach has showers, and although it is small and rocky, it is at the same time intimate and welcoming, ideal to come and enjoy a swim.

Es Castell beach

Platja Es Castell is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches on the Costa Brava, combining beautiful scenery and a long history. It is surrounded by a natural environment with fine golden sand and crystal-clear waters. It is ideal for the whole family, as the water is shallow.

We recommend a stroll through the surrounding area, in a natural environment of vegetation full of pine trees, a visit to the Iberian settlement of Es Castell to learn about its history, and also to Dalí's little house, famous for its inclination.

Although it is a bit far from the centre of Palamós, it is very easy to reach by car or on foot. Moreover, it is an accessible beach for people with reduced mobility, as it has ramps and access walkways. It offers several services, among them: lifeguard, a water sports school such as kayaking, a bar area and a parking area.
