Pozuelo de Alarcón is a spanish town and municipality belonging to the Community of Madrid, located west of the metropolitan area of the capital. It has an extension of 43.2 km2 and with 84989 inhabitants in 2016, is the thirteenth Madrid by population. Located in an area with wide natural spaces supplied by numerous streams, whose wells give name to the municipality, the origins of Pozuelo de Alarcón date back to the time of the Reconquista. From then until the mid-19th century, exercised the main function of supplying Madrid, including those of origins agricultural. They have joined, since the 1960s and by virtue of the economic and communications, strata of all kinds – including young people who have transformed Pozuelo into a relevant and dynamic city within its region, becoming the town with the highest per capita income in the whole country.
