Located in the Cortes neighborhood, its official name is due to the fact that within this neighborhood is located the Congreso de los Diputados, the lower chamber of the Cortes Generales de España. The nickname, more popular among the population, is due to the “huertas del prado” that existed in the seventeenth century in the current Paseo del Prado, which also give name to the main street of the neighborhood: Calle de las Huertas, very close to the Plaza Neptuno and Plaza Platería Martínez.
