Integrated in the region of Sierra Norte, it is located 61 kilometers from Madrid. The municipality is crossed by the national road N-320, between pK 330 and 335, by the regional roads M-131, which goes to El Berrueco, and M-102, which connects with Torremocha de Jarama, and by local roads that allow communication with La Cabrera and El Vellón. Since ancient times the town has been made up of seven neighborhoods, also called Granjerías, which are: Magdalena, San Vicente, San Quílez or Santo Domingo, La Floresta, San Sebastián, San Andrés and Las Huertas. In the north of the municipality is the urbanization of Los Tomillares. In Torrelaguna there is a nursery school (public), a public kindergarten and primary school (CEIP Cardenal Cisneros) and a secondary school (IES Alto Jarama). There is also an Adult Education Center called CEPA Sierra Norte. It is a regional public center that teaches people over 18 years of age to obtain the Secondary Education Graduate Degree, prepare for the university entrance exam for people over 25 years of age, access to Higher Level training cycles, or to study initial education (literacy and neo-literacy), computer science, English and mentor classroom. In terms of public transportation, there are several interurban lines, one of which connects the municipality with the city of Madrid.
