Mijas Pueblo is the beautiful centre of the extensive municipality of Mijas, which is over 400 metres above sea level and about 10 km from the coast. The area of Mijas Pueblo is in the north of the municipality, bordering the districts of Ojén, Alhaurín el Grande, Alhaurín de la Torre, Benalmádena and Fuengirola. The town centre of Mijas Pueblo is one of the jewels of the Costa del Sol whose charm attracts the foreigners, artists and writers who have made it their home over so many years. Although it is visited by many tourists it has managed to preserve much of its traditional Andalusian lifestyle. Mijas Pueblo is surrounded by nature and rural areas where you can find renovated Fincas with plenty of land of their own, which allows the owners to maintain their privacy.
