En progrésThe municipality of Santa Brígida has 18,300 inhabitants. It is the third smallest municipality in terms of surface area on the island and the one with the highest per capita income in the Canary Islands, being located 14 kilometres from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Its urban centre is located in a ravine with beautiful palm groves. Currently, Santa Brígida combines an agricultural past with a residential present, as it is possible to appreciate spectacular villas and houses that preserve elements of traditional architecture. Santa Brígida is known for its rich landscape. And a few kilometres from the town is the Bandama Natural Monument, an extinct volcanic caldera with a depth of 200 metres and a diameter of one kilometre, which offers magnificent views of the Central, Northern and Eastern parts of the island. The town centre has supermarkets, a public school, a nursery school, a playground for children, several restaurants, banks, bread factories, pharmacies, a public health centre, a residence for the elderly and a sports centre with an indoor swimming pool. At weekends there is an agricultural market. Fifteen minutes separate the municipality from the two main first level hospitals in the Canary Islands. Also noteworthy is the proximity to several of the island's main private bilingual schools and the famous Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas in Bandama, open since 1891. It has strategic access to the motorway (3 km away) which takes us to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (14 km away), reaching the airport in 13 minutes.
