Water has always played a crucial role in this town, with its spa of Fuente del Toro being a notable landmark. Its strategic position on the road to France caused El Molar to suffer the ravages of the War of Independence, being razed to the ground by French troops. Today, it is known for its caves dug into the hills of La Muela during the Middle Ages, many of which have been converted into wineries, such as the Wine Caves, where the region's wines mature, and restaurants where you can enjoy the local cuisine. In the heart of the town is the Plaza Mayor, where the town hall and the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción are located, which exhibits an impressive Gothic-Renaissance style. In addition, the town has other religious buildings such as the hermitage of San Isidro, in neo-Mudejar style, and the hermitage of La Soledad. Easy and convenient access from the A-1 road.
