The small Ticino village of Agarone is situated at an altitude of 360 m above sea level, on a beautiful south-facing slope (hillside) amidst vineyards that produce the best Merlot in the region. From up there you can enjoy a beautiful view of the lake and the plain. A village with typical stone houses and romantic footpaths. Peace and harmony are in the air here. In the village there is a small but renowned wine museum with a wine press dating back to 1610. In this museum you can learn interesting things about the tradition of wine growing and wine making. Agarone, together with the villages of Gerra-Piano and Piandesso, forms a village community that belongs to the political municipality of Gerra-Verzasca.
