Marsala: Location and surroundings of this property

Marsala is the biggest municipality of the province of Trapani, both for the number of inhabitants and for the extension of the territory. It is well known for the Garibaldi’s landing as well as for the production of the namesake wine, which the British considered better off than the “Porto” and the “Madeira”. In fact, they started to commercialize it worldwide, making it a success already in the first half of the ‘800. Marsala takes its name from the Arabs (Marsa-Allah, harbour of God), but the original name was Lilybeo, which has roman foundation in the III century a.C.. Since then, an entire area has been protected, representing today the archaeological park of the city. It is a city that is encircled by the sea. Tourists have all kinds of possibilities, since it can please lovers of sandy beaches as well as those who prefer sporting activities. It is a pearl also under a landscape and naturalistic point of view. Along the South coastline, you can find limpid and green sea, beaches with clear and fine sand, which can be either free or with bathing establishments. If you have children or you love sports, move towards the North coastline, where the sea shapes the so-called “Stagnone” lagoon. Among the little islands, there is the Phoenician Mothia, an authentic open-air museum which is set in a natural botanical garden. Finally, the Lagoon is also ideal for those who enjoy water sports such as windsurfing, kite surfing and sailing. In fact, thanks to the frequent wind and the shallow water, also beginners can easily learn.
