Description

The farm Spinaruccoli is an old farmhouse renovated with care and passion, immersed in the beautiful setting of the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano, an oasis of tranquility and relaxation surrounded by nature, near the Alento Dam, an imposing engineering work, with a length of 2,200 meters and a height of 120 meters, surrounded by lush nature that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The property consists of two buildings, the Inn and the farm, made of local stone which follows the features of a medieval castle, with towers, battlements and crenelated walls. The main entrance is surmounted by a high tower with battlements, while the windows are equipped with pointed arches. The inn is a historic building dating back to the eighteenth century, completely renovated with care and attention to detail. The stone porch, overlooking the river and the dam, is the ideal place to relax and enjoy the view. The Inn is characterized by a rustic but elegant architecture, with stone walls and exposed beams, with a wood-burning fireplace that creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant serves typical Cilento cuisine, prepared with fresh and seasonal ingredients. The event room is perfect for weddings, parties and business meetings. The farm is a more modern structure, but which retains a warm and welcoming atmosphere; it consists of 15 spacious rooms with private bathroom, air conditioning and flat screen TV. The garden is a green area of about 10,000 square meters, with trees, plants and flowers of different species. The pool is located in the middle of the garden and offers views of the surrounding hills. The architectural details that emphasize the romantic style of the structure are: - the stone walls, which give to the building a solid and robust appearance. - tiled roofs, which create a harmonious contrast with the greenery of the surrounding landscape. - windows with leaded glass, which give to the structure a romantic and evocative atmosphere. - the arcades and terraces, which invite you to spend time outdoors, enjoying nature and the view. Some of the activities that you can practice at the farm holiday include: - Hiking or cycling on the paths surrounding the dam - Fishing in the river Alento - Birdwatching in the wetlands of the dam - Guided tours to the dam and its history - Visit to the Alento River Oasis, a protected nature reserve - Visit to the Castle of Rocca Cilento, a medieval fortress overlooking the valley - Tasting of typical products of Cilento, such as wine, olive oil and salami.

Location: Cicerale, Campania

Cicerale: a medieval village on the hills of Cilento Cicerale is a small medieval village located in the valley of the river Alento, in the lower Cilento. The village is perched on a spur of Mount San Leo, about 500 meters above sea level, and has a characteristic elongated structure, with a double row of houses arranged on the sides of a single road. The origins of Cicerale date back to Roman times, but the village was developed in the Middle Ages, when an important agricultural and commercial center developed. The village was fortified to defend against the incursions of the Saracens and the Normans, and even today the traces of the ancient walls are visible. The old town of Cicerale is a fascinating place to visit. The narrow and winding streets are lined with stone houses, with flowered balconies and inlaid portals. In the heart of the village is the church of Santa Maria Assunta, dating back to the thirteenth century. The church is an important example of Romanesque architecture, with an imposing gabled façade and an interior full of frescoes and decorations. Near Cicerale there are many sites of historical and naturalistic interest. Among these, the dam of Alento, an impressive engineering work, located about 2 kilometers from Cicerale. The dam was built between 1990 and 1994, and regulates the course of the river Alento, forming an artificial lake of about 1.7 square kilometers, the natural park of the river Alento, a protected area located in the valley of the river Alento. The park covers about 500 hectares, and includes the Alento dam, the artificial lake and the surrounding areas. The park is an important oasis of biodiversity. Here you will find numerous species of flora and fauna, including numerous species of birds, amphibians and reptiles. The park is an ideal place for hiking, cycling or horseback riding. Cicerale and Agropoli: two villages in comparison Cicerale and Agropoli are two villages of Cilento that are located a few kilometers away. The two villages are very different from each other, but they share the beauty of the landscape and the richness of the historical and cultural heritage. Cicerale is a medieval village perched on the hills, while Agropoli is a coastal town. Cicerale is an ideal place for lovers of nature and history, while Agropoli is an ideal place for lovers of the sea and worldly life. Despite the differences, Cicerale and Agropoli are two fascinating places that deserve to be visited. The two villages offer visitors a unique experience, combining the beauty of nature with the wealth of historical and cultural heritage. The area surrounding Cicerale is an area full of attractions. In a few kilometers you can visit many sites of historical, natural and cultural interest. Among the sites of historical interest to note, in addition to the aforementioned dam of Alento, there are the archaeological park of Paestum, the archaeological park of Velia and the medieval village of Castellabate.
