We are in the Sestiere of San Marco, not far from Campo San Vidal. We walk past an imponent iron gate, through a great wooden door and up the narrow stairs to the mezzanine floor. We find ourselves staring down into an entrance hall whose walls could tell stories of their visitors. Despite it not being accessible,
the presence it emanates can be felt. At the end of the corridor, we find our entrance. As soon as we enter the apartment we are met with the charm and class that the apartment inspires. Carefully furnished, the traditional venetian marbled floor steals the show. As we enter the apartment the first feature in front of us is the typical venetian kitchen, equipped with full size fridge, oven, countertop stove and microwave, perfect for the preparation of meals to be enjoyed among friends and family in the large living room, to the right of the entrance. Comfortable white comfortable sofas and armchairs invite us for an afternoon tea and good conversations while on the other side of the room, the room is occupied by a solid wooden table and chairs, where one may enjoy breakfasts, lunches and dinners lulled by the light breeze coming through the windows giving onto the street below.
We wander back through the entry corridor and the second door to the left leads us to the windowed comfortable sized bathroom. The final room of the apartment waits for us at the end of the venetian marbled corridor. The large bed in the middle of the bedroom promises many soft and peaceful sleeps, nestled right in the beating heart of the city. From the windows of the bedroom, you may watch boats float by on the quiet little canal, and even steal a glimpse of the busy grand canal.
