Apartment with a unique personality in viale Abruzzi

On the third floor of a splendid early 20th-century building, we present a completely renovated apartment, designed by Studio di Architettura MCA in 2017. This studio is internationally renowned for their minimalist "faded grey" style and for their projects that respect the flat's historical architecture. For this property, the project re-proposes the classic elegant Milanese house with an L-shaped floor plan, replicating the traditional distribution of spaces. The living area consists of a double living room with a typical bow window, a dining room, a guest bathroom, a large laundry/ironing room for the service staff, a eat-in kitchen with a balcony and two ample storage spaces. The sleeping area includes a guest bedroom with an en suite bathroom, a master bedroom with a pass-through vestibule, and an en suite bathroom with a bath and a shower. All bathrooms are windowed. Other important details include 3.45-metre ceiling heights, a mixed ducted and split air conditioning system, original window frames fitted with frames and shutters but insulated with low-transmission double-glazing, and stucco decoration on the ceilings, even in the rooms. The materials used are of the highest quality: reconditioned solid period parquet flooring laid in Italian herringbone in the living area, showers in formation, and a resin bathtub and sink. Nothing is left to chance; in fact, the tone of the rooms is replicated in the fixtures, skirting boards, and radiators. The radiators in the living room are the original Poste Centrale di Torino, restored cast iron. Wardrobes and furniture are all custom-made, including the boiserie that runs along the corridor and incorporates all the doors of the sleeping area. The dining room has connections for the creation of a kitchen, and there is the possibility of providing the sleeping area with a third bedroom. This solution has great character in a building with highly representative common areas and an address that places it in the heart of one of the busiest areas of the city.
