As a result, the architecture resembles that of Venice and the main square is called Piazzetta San Marco. Several luxury and extra-luxury hotels, along with sumptuous residences, can be found in this area. Poltu Rutundu is a popular summer residence for wealthy celebrities from finance and show business. One of the most significant and spectacular deep-sea fishing events in the Mediterranean, the Big Game, takes place in Porto Rotondo every late August. The Porto Rotondo Yacht Club was officially established in 1985 and has become one of the most important clubs at the national level with strong ties to the Italian Yacht Club in Genoa.
