Since 1500, Albaro was a favourite location for prestigious and exclusive country residences. Over time, the district has maintained its ‘elitist’ character, especially along certain routes such as Via Parini or Via San Nazaro, which reveal unexpected places and wonderfully surprising architecture to the visitor. And it was in a property on via San Nazaro that Charles Dickens chose to stay in the Ligurian city in 1800.
