The village has a historic core characterized by a unified urban layout derived from the settlement of rural courtyards and rural holiday homes with gardens and parks. VIMERCATE is an Italian town of 26,000 residents in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy. It is a lively town with a variety of services and supermarkets, several restaurants and hotels, as well as the "Torri Bianche" district that offers a well-stocked shopping center with a multiplex cinema and numerous stores, a renowned gymnasium with a swimming pool and spa. It is at the center of the territory called Vimercatese and is located in the Po Valley, at the southern edge of the Brianza hills, northeast of Milan. It is 8 km from the center of Monza and only 5 km from an entrance to the Royal Park, which is the largest enclosed park in Europe, from Milan about 20 km, from Bergamo 25 km, and from Lecco and its lake about 30 km. Vimercate is served by numerous bus lines, which from the bus station in Piazza Marconi connect it to the railway stations of Monza, Arcore, Carnate-Usmate, and Villasanta Parco, and to line 2 of the Milan subway (at the terminuses of Cologno Monzese, Brugherio, and Gessate and at Gorgonzola on the branch line to Gessate). The residential complex is a 3-minute drive from Arcore train station, which is equipped with ample parking .This train line connects Arcore with Milano Garibaldi and Centrale stations in 25 minutes with trains running every 10 to 15 minutes during rush hours. Arcore station can also be reached by a bicycle/pedestrian path of about 2 km. The area is served by the East ring road that connects Milan and the A1 and A4 highways.
