Engel & Völkers Andorra provides you with a very complete portfolio to fulfill your dreams and acquire a home according to your wishes. In addition, we provide you with the information you need to consolidate your life in the country.
From Engel & Völkers Andorra we show you how to do it. Almost any vehicle can be imported into the country and be registered in the name of the owner. However, before it is necessary to be registered in the perish where the driver resides and the corresponding residence permit has been issued. The vehicle in question must have been registered in your name for more than 6 months and the import must be carried out within 6 months after the residence permit has been received.
First of all, the vehicles have to comply with European regulations that are related to EURO 5 Class emissions or higher. Following this same line, it is not allowed to import the cars that have the steering wheel on the right side. In addition, those who are older than 25 years, have to be imported as classic cars. It is also important to bear in mind that the import rate or IGI corresponds to 4.5% of the market value of the car in question, although for hybrids it is only 1%. The registration cost is 200€ and the plates that are issued by Automobile Club Andorra and it have a price of 60€. Similarly, cars that have been acquired or manufactured outside the European Union, must pay a 10% corresponding to an additional tax. Also, once registered in the country, it is essential to take insurance with an insurance company from Andorra. People who do not reside in Andorra can also register their vehicle in the country, only that in these cases temporary plates will be issued that must be renewed every year.

It is convenient that you know that, since 2014, cars that have registration plates of Andorra can already request a personalized registration, and these are the conditions that need to be carried out: combinations must be letters and numbers, in that order of preference, or only letters; the numeration must be Arabic and the letters must be capital letters and without accents; those confusing combinations will not be accepted, as well as abbreviations similar to registered trademarks and those that belong to different authorities; the records must contain at least five characters and begin with a letter; and those combinations that have already been assigned or reserved can not be accepted. Having said this, it is necessary to say that the Ministry will be responsible for rejecting all those that are contrary to the law or alter public order. According to the letters and figures of the personalized plate, the cost will be one or another, although the annual license fees are fixe and amount to a minimum of 200€.
