Giubiasco is a district of the city of Bellinzona surrounded by nature. It developed along the banks of the Ticino River and on the edge of the Piano di Magadino. Until 2017, the district was an autonomous municipality and therefore has all the main services, which can be easily reached on foot, without having to travel to the city centre. Moreover, some of Switzerland’s main roads and motorways converge and branch off in Bellinzona, as does the railway network, which allows connections within minutes to Lugano and Locarno, to the north to the cantons of Switzerland, and to the south to Milan and Lombardy. The road connections to the north and south are easily reached from the Bellinzona Sud motorway access. The history of the town, with its castles, attracts many tourists, especially in the summer season, and nature lovers can organise walks and hikes in the surrounding area, both on foot and by bicycle.
