Floridsdorf

Between vineyards on the Bisamberg and the Danube.

A harmonious blend of city & nature, old & new architecture and an international population - welcome to beautiful, water-rich Floridsdorf!

My name is Marijus Gailevicius and I not only look after this district, but have also lived in Floridsdorf with my family for a number of years, which has enabled me not only to get to know the most beautiful corners and best restaurants, but also to appreciate them.

Floridsdorf is inconceivable without its waters:

The Old Danube and the Danube River are the centre of leisure attractions, not just for Floridsdorf residents, but for everyone in Vienna. This is where I spend most of my free time with my family. My daughter loves the water and all the nearby playgrounds and my wife loves the many excellent restaurants by the water, such as La Creperie (for barbecues):

  • La Creperie (for barbecue lovers and those with a sweet tooth),

  • Neuerwirt (for the best spare ribs in the district) and

  • Strandgasthaus Birner (for all those who want to experience the flair of a typical, traditional Viennese restaurant). A little tip from me: in summer there can be a queue to get hold of the traditional ice cream, so you'd better be quick

But Floridsdorf doesn't just have water to offer, the Bisamberg and the neighbouring, well-known and long-established wine region of Stammersdorf are also located in the 21st district. Several city hiking trails, wine taverns and cellar lanes make this place particularly exciting for excursions in larger groups. Whether summer, autumn or winter, you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama, fresh air and peace and quiet from the city at any time of year.

As Floridsdorf has only been part of Vienna for more than 100 years, there are not necessarily many traditional Viennese coffee houses here. However, inns, wine taverns and pubs along the Danube offer their own special flair.

What else attracts people to Floridsdorf?

Undeveloped areas, plenty of green space, affordable housing and lots of leisure activities. Floridsdorf is developing from an original industrial area into a modern, pleasant residential area - here I keep thinking of the quote ''Turn negatives into positives''

Floridsdorf is a large part of today's Vienna, but that wasn't always the case. It was only in 1904 that Floridsdorf was annexed to Vienna together with other villages. Hard to imagine, especially when you consider that this district has the second largest area and third largest population in Vienna.

The average price per square metre was in 2024:

  • for apartments (developers) at approx. 5,301 €/m² and

  • for apartments at approx. 4,985 €/m²

I would like to share what I have found here with my clients and recommend it to them. All in all, Floridsdorf is a lively and diverse district that offers the best of both worlds: the amenities of city life and the tranquillity of nature.

Whether you live here or are just visiting, Floridsdorf has something for everyone.

If you have any questions about the district, I will be happy to advise you:
