It is a destination of variety and quality. Ski enthusiasts can use the mountain lifts and enjoy a fantastic, extensive ski area, which has been extended by a connection to the slopes of Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn. The Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area is only 15 minutes away by car and the Tauern Therme in Kaprun offers pure relaxation and recreation. Shops for daily needs as well as a pharmacy, doctors' surgeries and the Tauernklinik for medical care are available. Educational facilities such as schools and kindergartens are located in nearby Zell am See. The nearest railway station is in Zell am See, just a few minutes away on the opposite side of the lake. Larger cities such as Salzburg (approx. 80 km), Innsbruck (approx. 145 km) and Munich (approx. 150 km) are also easily accessible by car from Thumersbach. The nearest international airport is in Salzburg and can be reached in approx. one hour by car.
