The 3rd tank filters out all residues and discharges the water clean to surface water. This process is completely biological and requires limited maintenance. It does require the use of a dry toilet** as faeces cannot handle the system. **Dry toilet. = In the toilet, urine and faeces are separated, urine goes into the IBA and faeces goes into a bio bin. That bin dries the faeces sucks out moisture and air. As a result, it does not smell. The bio bin is emptied into the green compost bin from home once every three weeks.
