  • 162 m² Total surface

Description

In the historic center of Monteroni di Lecce, a few steps from the majestic Palazzo Baronale, stands a stately apartment that enchants with its history and beauty. This gem, once known as “Farmacia dell’Iris”, recalls ancient stories through its finely restored Lecce stone, where the snake symbol stands as a tribute to the pharmacies of the early 1900s. Every corner of this mansion is a work of art, from the masterfully hand-beaten Venetian sown floor to the paintings restored with meticulous dedication by expert hands, to the frescoed vaults that tell of bygone eras. The four glass niches and the atrium restored to its original form with an elegant archway create a discreet and refined atmosphere. Overlooking the main square, the property offers a privileged vantage point. The gates, restored according to canons that recall the stained glass windows of ancient cathedrals, complete the harmony of this residence, where modernity and tradition meet. This apartment, which due to the layout of the spaces also lends itself perfectly to professional office-studio use, is a journey through time where every detail has been taken care of to offer an unparalleled living experience. A rare opportunity to own a piece of history, immersed in the authentic charm of Salento: a place where the past lives again with new light.

Location: Monteroni di Lecce, Apulia

Monteroni di Lecce, like the whole area of the province, has origins linked to prehistory, because the whole of Apulia has had human settlements since the Paleolithic period. With the Normans it was part of the county of Lecce, and later, in 1250, Frederick II ceded the hamlet to the feudal lords De Cremona, who were succeeded by the Monteroni family, who held it until the early 16th century. This family is credited with the construction of the first nucleus of the present Baronial Palace, later enlarged by the Lopez y Royo family, to whom we also owe the construction of the clock tower and two chapels in the mother church. The beating heart of Monteroni di Lecce is its mainsquare with the majesty of the Mother Church, Chiesa Maria Santissima Assunta. This imposing sacred building, with its Baroque facade, rises majestically above the square, a reminder of the importance of faith in the lives of its inhabitants. But itis in the surrounding country side that Monteroni di Lecce reveals its true splendor. The area is dotted with centuries-old olive groves that stretch to the horizon, creating a breath taking backdrop. The soft country side covered in Mediterranean vegetation offers an oasis of peace for those who wish to immerse themselves in unspoiled nature.
