Lanzo d'Intelvi: Location and surroundings of this property

Lanzo is located in Val d'Intelvi, a mountainous area close to the Swiss border. Considered a prized location by Milanese aristocratic families from the early 1900s until the early 1970s, thanks also to the direct connection with the city of Lugano via a funicular railway, now decommissioned but in the process of being reactivated, which led to the shores of Lake Lugano and by boat to the city's lakefront. The countless Art Nouveau residences are evidence of a Lanzo d'Intelvi frequented by the Milanese upper middle class. The village has always been a summer and winter holiday destination, but in recent years there has been an increase in permanent Italian and Swiss residents, thanks to its enviable proximity to the city of Lugano (7 km as the crow flies and 30 minutes by car), which has made the village a convenient base for cross-border work. Also of interest is the presence of a golf club and the renowned restaurant 'La locanda del Notaio'.
