The property is located on the island of Ortigia, in the historic centre of the city of Syracuse, more precisely in the ‘Castello’ district. The island, which extends over approximately one square kilometre, is connected to the mainland by two bridges, which can also be crossed by car. Strolling through the streets of the historic centre, you can admire magnificent buildings that bear witness to the city's rich history. Not far from the property is Piazza Duomo, where you can admire the imposing structure of the 5th-century Temple of Athena. One of the most important monuments from the Swabian period is Maniace Castle, which is located at the southern end of the island. Also worth seeing is the impressive Arethusa spring, a freshwater spring associated with a famous Greek myth. The northern part of the island is animated by the characteristic market of Ortigia, whose colours, sounds and scents attract many visitors. The island is about 5-10 minutes from the railway station and motorway connections.
