Description
Located in one of the most scenic areas of Antiparos Island, a five-minutes’ walk from the sea, the brand-new Villa Oleander is conceived as a Cycladic getaway to experience the joys of summer living. Situated just a ten-minute drive south of Antiparos Town, Soros Beach is a serene coastal paradise boasting golden sands and crystal-clear waters. Despite being one of the island's oldest settlements, the area has remained sparsely built, featuring a collection of high-end residences and has been sustainably developed with respect for the surrounding natural landscape. The presence of scenic paths and hiking trails crisscrossing the area makes Soros Beach an ideal spot not only for sunbathing and swimming but also for taking long walks amidst stunning natural scenery. Surrounded by rugged hills and greenery, the house is located just a few hundred metres from one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Also within walking distance, a beach club and a taverna offer a range of culinary options, from traditional Cycladic dishes and fresh fish to Mediterranean cuisine, sushi and cocktails. Blessed with beautiful sea and sunrise views due to its southeastern orientation, the property is a secluded haven of beauty and tranquillity. Designed by acclaimed architect Dimitris Rizos, Villa Oleander channels the elegant simplicity of the Cycladic vernacular through a lens of contemporary sophistication. The building’s architecture is underpinned by pure geometric volumes, clean-cut lines and discrete finishes, showcasing whitewashed cubic shapes complemented by exposed masonry walls and wooden pergolas. The residence comprises two building volumes connected by a shaded terrace: a two-storey building housing the communal areas and three bedrooms, and a one-storey guest house with two independent bedrooms. Taking advantage of the plot’s favourable SE orientation, the two building’s linear layout offers unobstructed views as well as ensures privacy, while a series of terraces, courtyards and balconies wholeheartedly embrace the concept of indoor/outdoor living. Entering the main house through a walled courtyard, which is designed to offer protection from the prevailing northern winds, you step into a large open-plan living and dining area. The space opens out onto the spacious pool terrace that features a sun deck, a 19-metre-long swimming pool, and a shaded living and dining area. The latter is the ideal place to entertain and includes an outdoor kitchenette and BBQ. Three additional outdoor lounges offer more options to socialize or unwind. During the day, you can relax in the shaded terrace between the two building volumes while in the evening you can enjoy after-dinner drinks under the stars on the spacious rooftop terrace boasting unobstructed sea views or congregate around the fire pit in the sunken lounge by the pool. Perched on the upper floor of the main building, the master bedroom boasts a dressing room and private balcony, while on the ground floor, another two bedrooms open onto private terraces. Two additional bedrooms with independent access can be found in the separate guest house. All bedrooms feature ensuite bathrooms. In the basement level, a large multipurpose space can accommodate a playroom, home cinema, gym, or any other facility of your choosing. Laundry and storage spaces are also located in this level while staff quarters can also be included if desired. Villa Oleander is designed in line with E+K Greece’s commitment to sustainable development. It boasts an eco-friendly agenda that extends across the building’s life cycle from design through construction to operation. The building will be constructed primarily with local, low-energy materials, including stone and wood from Paros. All excavated materials will be recycled on site. The residence is designed to the highest standards for thermal insulation and energy eciency including the optimization of natural ventilation and the use of natural light in order to reduce the need for artificial cooling and lighting. It will be equipped with photovoltaic panels for electricity net metering, solar panels for hot water production, and charging stations for electric vehicles. Water is a precious resource in the Cyclades so with that in mind the residence will feature water-saving fixtures, rainwater collection and biological wastewater treatment. Landscaping using native, drought-resistant plants, including existing 800-year-old juniper and lentisk shrubs that have been left intact, will reduce irrigation requirements while sustainable gardening practices will ensure the preservation of the local ecosystem. Villa Oleander’s bespoke interiors are conceived as a reflection of the contemporary finesse and Cycladic soulfulness of its architectural design. Clean lines and simple forms are combined with natural materials and luxurious finishes that introduce a rich tapestry of textures. A soothing colour palette imbues the spaces with a meditative, laid-back ambience and allows the magnificent views of the island to take centre stage. Custom-design furniture and handcrafted details that blend tradition with modernity further enhance the sense of timeless sophistication and Mediterranean charm.
