Asvestochori is located at the foot of Hortiatis and belongs to the municipality of Pylaia-Hortiatis. It has approximately 11,000 permanent residents.

OASTH serves Asvestochori with line 57 connecting Asvestochori with Pefka and Thessaloniki to the west and with Hortiatis to the east.
