Location: Andros is the northernmost island of the Cyclades, in the Aegean Sea, and the second largest, after Naxos. Unique Features: Andros is a miniature look alike of Greece. The traditional Cycladic landscape, and architecture is combined with high mountains, rivers, valleys, fresh running water springs, and numerous stunning beaches, under a bright sun. Its famous and amazing network of 200 km of paths, known as Andros Routes certified by the EU, attracts excursionists from all over the world to discover the hidden beauties of the island. The capital of the island, Chora, is one of the most beautiful in the Cyclades. It features museums, such as the Archaeological Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, with new exhibitions each summer. The unique, one and a half mile pedestrian walk, in the middle of the town guides you to the traditional Cycladic architecture, and history, with numerous restaurants, cafés, and shops alongside. Accessibility: Andros is accessible from the port of Rafina and is the closest island of the Cyclades from Athens. There are at least four daily ferry services during the summer season and at least two during the winter. The journey takes just two hours. It is also connected by ferry to Tinos and Mykonos.
