Agios Eleftherios is a district of Athens and borders the districts of Agios Nikolaos, Kato Patisia, Ano Patisia, Agios Loukas, Plateia Amerikis, Agios Meletio and Plateia Koliatsou and the Municipality of Nea Filadelfia-Nea Chalkidona. It is located very close to the National Road and the intersection between the northern suburbs and the center of Athens.
Unique features: The area was first inhabited in 1902 by a few farming families who in 1967 built the church of Agios Eleftherios from which it took its name. In 1920, it had 103 residents and another 500 were added to them by the Asia Minor Catastrophe. The steam train that passed through the area without stopping contributed to the economic development of the area. In the following years, the area became a popular holiday center for Athenians until March 3, 1925. It was then that the area was officially recognized as a community of the Municipality of Athens. The location of the area very close to nature contributed to it being declared a popular resort and residential center. Until 1960, the entire area did not have a single apartment building, but only single-family homes, many of which survive to this day and give an old Athenian type to the area. Agios Eleftherios, due to its healthy climate, beautiful surroundings, abundant waters and relatively short distance from the center of Athens, easily accessible by electric station, was a privileged place and a resting place for the rich and noble. Beans, olives and potatoes were well-known products of Agios Eleftherios. It is a neighborhood with a local character and urban mood. It has a dynamic presence in the catering sector with taverns, ouzeries and cafes, sports areas, super markets and a rich market.
Accessibility: This is a multicultural district with a simple neighborhood character. It has easy access to public transportation, such as buses and the electric railway of Agios Eleftherios, as well as many options for social life and entertainment. The area offers a balanced combination of quiet living and access to amenities and services in everyday life.
Investment Dynamics: Agios Eleftherios is an area with high potential and significant development prospects. Its very close distance to public transportation and its central location, a breath away from the center of Athens, make it an ideal area for investments, with a sure and immediate return.
