Toroni: Location and surroundings of this property

Toroni is the southernmost area of the Sithonia peninsula , a place of exquisite wild beauty being part Natura 2000 is a network of protected areas covering Europe's most valuable and threatened species and habitats. The landscape is typically a coastal Mediterranean landscape with a pronounced coastal dissection, long vegetation, antiquities and tourist development. On the small peninsula of Lycythos and on the hill of Vigla, one can see remains of Byzantine masonry and foundations of harbour works. A few Km away is situated Porto Koufo, the largest and safest harbour in the area, bejwelled by deep sea caves and solid rocky shores. Kartalia,the southernmost cape of Sithonia,was once a habitat for birds of prey.
