New own operations centre in Santander

Two months after the opening of the Market Center (MC) in San Sebastian, with which we expect to revolutionise the high standing market in Donosti, we announce the opening of a new centre of our own in Santander. The MC we have set up in the Cantabrian capital is located at calle Castelar 37, from where we manage all the operations in Cantabria.

Leaders in the brokerage of exclusive real estate in the world, Engel & Völkers has been present in Santander through our franchise network in the past, but given the potential and exclusivity of the area we have decided to take a step further to install our seventh MC in Iberia after those already present in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Seville, San Sebastian and Lisbon. "We have now taken the decision to take over the management of this area in order to offer a personalized and quality service to our clients," explains Juan-Galo Macià, president of Engel & Völkers in Spain, Portugal and Andorra.

‘The opening of the Market Center in Santander is another step towards consolidating our leadership in the north of Spain,’ says Macià. ‘In addition to the business line of buying and selling premium residential properties in the areas of Santander, western and eastern Cantabria, we will begin, with immediate effect, to intermediate the leasing of both long and short term residential properties, as well as the buying and selling and leasing of commercial premises and offices,’ highlights Irantzu González-Ongay, the centre's commercial director.

González-Ongay, who holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from the Complutense University of Madrid, has a solid background in marketing and will contribute her extensive experience in German multinational companies where she has led national and international teams for 25 years. This, together with her knowledge of the real estate market acquired after her time at Engel & Völkers Madrid as a real estate consultant, is a guarantee of success for this new operations centre.

‘The model that Engel & Völkers has implemented in the main cities of the world has triumphed in all the markets in which it is present’, says González-Ongay, who expects to have around 30 collaborating consultants in Cantabria who ‘will provide an excellent and very dynamic service for the challenge of brokering a turnover of 25 million euros in the first year’.
