Dénia, with its population of just under 50,000, is a picturesque town on the Mediterranean, right between the two major cities of Valencia and Alicante. In addition to its year-round mild climate, great beaches, inviting harbour with its bars, restaurants and discotheques and castle towering over the old town, one of its most attractive features is its award-winning gastronomy. Dénia avoids mass tourism, and you won't find any high-rise developments here either, so the town has retained its original charm. While the sea borders the city in the east, the Orba Valley stretches out in the west, offering a variety of trekking, cycling and climbing opportunities. A really great spot on earth!
