YesTorrevieja is a seaside city and center of tourism in the south of the province of Alicante, located on the Costa Blanca, in south-eastern Spain. Torrevieja is situated to 41 km away from Alicante to the north, 23 km from Elche to the northwest, and 53 km from Murcia in the southeast. It was originally a salt-mining and fishing village as it is located between the sea and two large salt lakes (Las Lagunas de La Mata-Torrevieja), which give Torrevieja a healthy micro climate. This protected Natural Park is one of the most important wetlands of Valencia and one of the most important salt farms in Europe. It has 20 km of coastline containing six large beaches - La Mata, Cabo Cervera, Los Locos, El Cura, Los Náufragos and Ferris - and about 20 coves with an abundance of cliffs. This city offers a wide range of shopping opportunities. It contains about 2,500 shops. It has also numerous sports clubs, sports facilities, schools, hospitals and the great shopping center “Las Habaneras”. In the Real Club Nautico of Torrevieja taught sailing, rowing, etc. Very well connected by plane: El Altet airport (Alicante) about 40 km north and San Javier airport (Murcia) some 25 km south of the city. By car: National mainroad 332 Alicante-Cartagena, Levante motorway Madrid-Alicante, Mediterranean motorway Alicante-Murcia, A-37 motorway Alicante-Cartagena. By train: Alicante RENFE train station and Murcia RENFE train station are the closest. By bus and by boat. Torrevieja has a large harbour for private yachts and small sight-seeing boats offer cruises around the coastline and to the nearby island of Tabarca. Cuenta con 20 km de costa: desde la Playa de la Mata hasta Punta Prima se suceden numerosas calas rocosas y amplias playas, 13 en total. Destacan las playas de La Mata, Los Locos, El Cura, El Acequión o Los Náufragos. La ciudad ofrece una amplia gama de oportunidad para salir de compras. Dispone de 2.500 tiendas de toda clase. Cuenta con numerosas asociaciones deportivas, instalaciones deportivas, numerosos centros de educación, hospital privado, hospital público, instalaciones hoteleras y centros comerciales como “Las Habaneras”. En el Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja se imparten a los socios clases de vela, remo, etc. Muy bien comunicada por avión: 40km del Aeropuerto El Altet (Alicante) y 25km sur del aeropuerto de San Javier (Murcia). En coche: carretera nacional 332, autovía de Levante, autovía del Mediterráneo y autovía A-37. En tren: diversas estaciones de RENFE en Alicante, Elche y Murcia. En transporte público como autobús y en barco. Torrevieja cuenta con un enorme puerto para yates privados y botes turísticos con ofertas de cruceros por toda la costa y la Isla Tabarca.
