Calahonda: Location and surroundings of this property

El Sitio de Calahonda is a coastal urbanisation which owes its name to the beach of the same name. Of the coastal areas of Mijas it is the most westerly, bordering the municipality of Marbella and to the east with Riviera del Sol. It has been populated since the 60's and its main attraction is the extensive beaches with dunes and endless pine forests. In these forests nowadays you can find urbanisations with villas and detached houses perfectly integrated in the surroundings, offering their owners tranquillity and privacy. One of its main characteristics is the peaceful microclimate of the area. The area enjoys excellent communications thanks to the AP7 motorway and the A7 dual carriageway that crosses the entire territory at both ends, with access to Malaga airport at about 25 minutes, and to the famous marina of Puerto Banus and the charming Marbella at about 15 minutes. There is also a smaller marina 5 minutes away in the urbanisation of Cabopino, adjacent to Calahonda.
