The municipality of Algaida is located in Pla de Mallorca, which is set in the south-centre of Mallorca. Pla de Mallorca is composed of three urban centres: Algaida, with approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Pina, with about 500 inhabitants, and Randa, with just over 100 inhabitants.
