Soho is an emerging neighbourhood of Malaga city centre located between “Alameda Principal” and the port, rising up following the success of a neighbouring initiative at the end of the first decade of year 2000. Its two important auditoriums, “Alameda theatre” and the Contemporary Arts Centre (CAC) have contributed to promote the area as a cultural referent. Nowadays, the most significant movement comes from the project known as “Málaga Arte Urbano” (MAUS) or Malaga Urban Street Art in charge of important graffiti paintings carried out by renowned national and international artists. In the last few years, Soho has become the favourite place of the new residents of the historic district as it combines the benefits of living in the heart of the city without having to deal with problems related to noise or car access issues.
