Cerdanya valley is surrounded by the Catalan Pyrenees with wonderful views of mountains like the Sierra del Cadi or Tosa d’Alp, amongst others, providing us an exceptional place to live or spend vacation periods all year round. Privileges include lots of sunny days during the year, mild temperatures in summer, postcard looks in spring and autumn and a winter surrounded by ski resorts. Montellà town is located at a height of 1,300 meters in the municipality of Montellà and Martinet that includes the towns of Beixec, Villec, Estana, Bastanist and Martinet. The term is located, to a large extent, within the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, and is surrounded by extraordinary landscapes such as Prat de Cadí located at the foot of the mountain, Ridolaina valley, Prat de Aguiló located at a height of 1,700 meters or the Cristall and Bastanist canals, ideal places for practicing different sports and activities in contact with nature. It preserves notable architectural elements, such as the 16th century church of Sant Genís de Montellà and the parish church of Sant Sadurní famous for its square tower bell. During the last years of the 20th century, most of the old houses as well as the central square have been restored, thus recovering the spirit and authenticity of the traditional mountain village.
