Tordera is a municipality belonging to the province of Barcelona. It is located north of Maresme, although it is true that it is bordering La Selva, a region in the province of Gerona, a situation that leaves this town about 35 km from Gerona and about 66 km from Barcelona. It is the largest municipality in size in the region (even larger than the capital itself, Mataró) and is made up of a historic center that originates right next to its river, the Tordera River, which flows into the Mediterranean Sea, between Malgrat de Mar and Blanes. It has a cluster of neighborhoods, as well as many urbanizations scattered throughout its territory, among which is Mas Mora, one of the most sought after for its privileged location and panoramic views. Tordera is currently experiencing a demographic and economic boom. An example of this is the recent construction of the headquarters of Massimo Dutti of Spain and its considerable growth in population in recent years.
