Electric heatingPortocolom has retained much of its original flair and charm. Here everything is a bit calmer and more idyllic, time seems to have almost stopped. The village nestles around one of the largest, sheltered bays of the island, where colorful boathouses, the lighthouse and boats to the picturesque look of the place fit. Portocolom is a traditional resort in Mallorca and therefore offers a wide selection of hotels, bars and restaurants. There is a market twice a week in Portocolom, and the nearest supermarket is a small Spar just a 5-minute walk away. The old town located at the harbor invites you to take a leisurely stroll through its tranquil streets, where you can also stop in one of the various very good restaurants. The bustling village of Santanyí (approx. 18 km away) with its colorful weekly market on Wednesdays and Saturdays also offers cozy restaurants, bars and boutiques; you can reach Santanyi in about 20 minutes by car. The beaches of Porto Colom are not directly in the center, but they are easy to reach from there. One of the most popular beaches on the peninsula of Sa Punta is the fabulous S'Arenal beach with its famous Blue Bar. If you like it even more quiet and secluded, you should visit the mini-book S'Algar on the peninsula. This slightly hidden bay is surrounded by rocky shores and a true oasis of tranquility. The exclusive golf club "Vall d'Or" can be reached in about 10 minutes by car. The airport is around 55 minutes away, making Portocolom a practical base for exploring the island.
