Located in the Cortes neighbourhood, its official name is due to the fact that the Congreso de los Diputados, the lower chamber of the Spanish Parliament, is located in this neighbourhood. The nickname, more popular among the population, is due to the ‘huertas del prado’ that existed in the 17th century in the current Paseo del Prado, which also gives its name to the main street of the neighbourhood: Calle de las Huertas, very close to Plaza Neptuno and Plaza Platería Martínez.
