Located in Portugalete, an elegant fishing village founded in 1322 by Dª María Díaz de Haro, it is one of the main urban centers on the left bank of the Ría de Bilbao. This ancient medieval town, the scene of exciting knightly struggles, is located at the start of the Nervión River and is known for its ferry suspension bridge, called Bizkaia Bridge, is the first of its style built around the world and considered one of the most important industrial revolution buildings of Europe that has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
