In progressL’Escala, is a municipality located on the coast of the province of Girona, on the Costa Brava, which is made up of different population centers, L’Escala, Sant Martí d’Empúries, Riells and Montgó. The Ruins of Empuries, a must-see, in 1908 the first excavations discovered these settlements dating from the 9th century BC. Here you can see remains of the Roman and Greek cities, great Roman forums and walls, as well as the surprising mosaics of the Domus, or the Greek statues and amphorae. Not far from the ruins we find the small and beautiful medieval town of St Marti, ideal for a walk and a well-deserved rest in one of its bars and restaurants. The town of L´Escala is located in the province of Girona just 50 kilometers from Girona airport and 100 kilometers from Barcelona.
