Campanet is a beautiful village in the north of Mallorca lying inland but very well connected to the main road network, just 15 minutes from the beach and 30 from Palma de Mallorca and the airport. It is a lovely, authentic village, which was inhabited even before the Roman occupation that remains mostly off the tourist grid. Now a residential town with around 2600 inhabitants Campanet is a unique place to experience the tradition and authentic Mediterranean lifestyle. The new motorway is easy to access and a bus shuttle runs several times a day directly from the village square to the train station in Inca that offers a regular service to and fro to Palma. Campanet caters for every basic need, including a small supermarket and a weekly market every Tuesday, with fresh, local goods. Located between flat land and mountains it is simply charming with some houses enjoying spectacular views of through the valley and on to the mountains. There is so much to see strolling through the narrow streets leading to the main square "Plaça Major" with its imposing Baroque church originating from the 18th century and many restaurants and bars. Campanet has several impressive caves that have many beautiful natural rock formations and underground lakes. On the outskirts of the village the 13th century "Sant Miquel” chapel is one of the oldest on the island and in the woods alongside it is where the spectacular 'Ufanes' natural springs come to life after heavy rainfall. The property prices here are relatively affordable, meaning you get more for your money and the properties are just as charming. You will encounter beautiful townhouses and country houses for sale and for rent.
