With a population of more than 1,500 inhabitants, and surrounded by vegetation, this enclave is a privileged place in the heart of nature and only 50 km from Madrid. It was in the middle of the 18th century when it was constituted as an independent village. The village is a marvel in every sense of the word. In its streets you will find architecture typical of the Sierra Norte de Madrid, a beautiful church, a Potro de Herrar, the Town Hall, the Tourist Office and several bars and restaurants where you can make a stop. In addition, in the surrounding area, you will find centenary trees, streams and even an impressive waterfall (Cascada del Cancho). The area is surrounded by reservoirs; about 10 km away is the Pedrezuela Reservoir, where fishing is allowed, and 25 km away is the Atazar Reservoir, where the Cervera de Buitrago Nautical Club is located, which allows both fishing and sailing.
