A jewel of noucentist architecture

The Balcells house cataloged as a Cultural Asset of Local Interest, It was built in 1906. It is one of the first architectural ensembles of the Noucentista language in Catalonia, including the design of the gardens that surround it. Its access door, later commissioned by the family, is made of two leaves, made of iron with finished bars and with twisted ornamental motifs. Of the house, the sinuous molding that crowns the building stands out. We access the main entrance by a stone staircase. On the ground floor we find a living room with large windows that give access to the terrace, a kitchen with a pantry, three bedrooms and a guest bathroom. On the first floor there is a room with access to another terrace, with impressive views to the mountains on the left, eight bedrooms, three bathrooms and a chapel. The attic of the house of approximately 80m2, has a large study overlooking the garden. The ground floor also has access through the back to which you access the bonded house, consisting of a living room, kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Outside there are several rooms, a stable for horses, a tennis court, a fronton court and a swimming pool. The house, gardens and its 19,415m2 of pine and almond groves are supplied with water by a mine with wells. Its environment called Mas Bonavista area, is listed as the Historical and Archaeological Heritage of La Garriga, because it is a republican Roman site that was documented for the first time in 1943 by Tomás Balvey y Bas, an apothecary by training and hobby historian.
