Calpe (in Valencian and officially Calp), is a coastal town located in the comarca of Marina Alta, in the province of Alicante, Valencian Community, by the Mediterranean Sea. This beautiful fishing town is always under the protective shadow of the Peñón de Ifach, a calcareous mass measuring 332 meters in height, rich in vegetation and birds. This rock is one of the emblems of Calpe and the Costa Blanca and was declared a nature reserve in 1987. In addition, from the ports of Calpe (Port Pesquer el Racó and Puerto Blanco), the famous islands Ibiza and Mallorca are only 60 nautical miles away. From the coves of “El Collao” on the far west, we come across the beaches of “Arenal-Bol”, “Cantal Roig” and “Levante”, tho sailing clubs and a very busy fishing port, with a succession of restaurants serving fish and seafood. Dare climbing the Peñón de Ifach, visiting the Real Club Náutico, strolling through the “Paseo Ecológico Príncipes de Asturias, enjoying a dip in “Baños de la Reina”, snorkeling in the coves, swimming in its fine sandy beaches, visiting “Las Salinas” or the old town centre, are just some of the activities on offer in Calpe.
