Take your pick from the numerous markets taking place every day of the week
One of the biggest markets in the north Mallorca is in the fabulous old town of Alcudia, held every Tuesday and Sunday, from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm, this is an extensive, colourful affair selling everything from fresh fruit and vegetables, to handicrafts, gifts, shoes, and textiles. It is especially popular with locals and tourists during the summer months, creating a bustling, lively cosmopolitan atmosphere. If you want parking nearby be sure to be early, there is plenty of parking but on these days, space runs out quickly.
If you are thinking of buying a new house, villa, or apartment in Campanet or Santa Margalida, you will also have a little market practically on the doorstep. In Campanet there is a market every day from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on the village square, and in Santa Margalida it is held on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1.00 pm. These are traditional markets frequented by the locals wanting to buy fresh fruit and veg, plants and flowers, as well as textiles, shoes and gifts.
Another great market is the Wednesday market in Puerto de Pollensa, from 9 am to 1 pm in the centre of town. Check out the diverse selection of clothing, accessories, fruit and vegetables, nuts, sweets, cheeses and lots more. Very near the market is the beautiful beach and seafront promenade and numerous bars and restaurants, inviting you to linger.
If you have fallen in love with Can Picafort to buy a home, enjoy stocking up on fresh fruit and vegetables, etc., at the Friday market. Other smaller, weekly markets are held on a Sunday in Buger and Muro.
Two big Sunday markets are held in Sa Pobla and Pollensa and are a great morning out to buy fresh, homegrown produce and meet friends over a coffee or tapas and a beer. The markets are a very popular meeting place for the local community, and if you want to buy homegrown it is the best place to shop. Alongside the many eatables you will also find some very nice home crafted gifts such as jewellery, woven baskets, artwork, candles, soap, bags, shoes and clothes, tools and utensils, honey, and a huge etc.
Also livening up the streets are the wonderful night markets, held during the summer months, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm in the towns of Puerto Pollensa, Puerto Alcudia and Can Picafort, with artisanal products, jewellery, leather goods, and textiles.
