This was the Mallorca Golf Open 2022! 120 players, 12,000 spectators and 30,000 plastic bottles avoided!
The best golfers in the world gathered in Mallorca from the 20th to 23rd October 2022 for the second edition of the DP World Tour Mallorca Golf Open. And once more, Engel & Völkers Mallorca was recognized as the leading real estate company supporting the best events on the island.
After a dramatic final round, Yannik Paul claimed his maiden DP World Tour title. Marcus Armitage held a two-shot lead with three holes to play but dropped four shots over the closing stretch; the Englishman finished three strokes back in tied sixth as Germany's Yannik Paul claimed a one-shot victory.
"I couldn't have dreamed of a better ending, so I'm over the moon," Paul said. "To finish like this is obviously a dream come true - I couldn't have asked for any better. I'm speechless, I'm just so happy."

We are especially happy that the topic of "sustainability" was at the centre of the DP World Tour event.
All plastic bottles were banned from the Son Muntaner golf course. The players, caddies & officials of the DP World received refillable drink bottles at the start of the tournament. Water dispensers were installed throughout the course, which were used by players, caddies and spectators. These facilities were provided by KMZero, a Spanish company that offers various water solutions for almost all needs.
Golf fans could purchase the refillable bottle of the DP World Tour event during their visit, with 1 EUR of the sales price going to the Mallorca Preservation Foundation.
This is a great step towards a more sustainable way of organizing these high-quality events on the island!
